Kapurpurawan Rocks are white rock formations on the rocky coast of Burgos, Ilocos Norte. The beauty of this limestone formation was naturally formed by the forces of strong wind and sea.. The view is simply mind-blowing and a photo-shoot session is a must for every traveller.
Kapurpurawan comes from the root word “puraw” which means white in the local Ilocano dialect. The amazing textures of this white limestone formation, makes it unique and makes it a popular destination. This Pagudpud place of interest can be reached through a short tricycle ride from Burgos town. There is NO sight vendors or any commercial ad.. It’s just plain nature at its purest form. There used to have no entrance fee but now, a minimal Conservation fee is collected upon registration from the jump-off site.. A note for the avid Surfboarding enthusiasts who frequents Pagudpud resorts. The very strong winds in this part of Ilocos Norte, not only creates those giant waves you love to ride, it is also a living testament that the gentle strength of nature’s wind and sea can carve a magnificent work of art in the form of Kapurawan Rocks.
